About The Founders, Janice & Bob Moisey
I, along with my wife, Janice, and my partners were desirous of creating a home-like atmosphere with all the comforts and amenities. As the first step, we put a vision in place nearly two decades ago, to design a premier, personal care home for the Hazleton area.
We involved ourselves in every detail during the construction and completion of the facility. Every accent, including floor plans, furniture, and pictures on the wall, was handpicked, and carefully placed. We wanted to be a part of the entire process because The Laurels Senior Living Community is home for so many of our dear and close friends.
About The Administrator & Executive Director
Jenn Moisey, PhD, MBA
Dr. Jenn Moisey, a licensed Personal Care Home Administrator, has been integral to The Laurels since its inception. Her career with The Laurels began in the Activities Department after earning her MBA, where her dedication to residents and passion for senior living quickly became evident. She later advanced to Director of Marketing, playing a key role in strengthening The Laurels’ presence in the community and upholding its longstanding reputation for exceptional care.
Today, as Executive Director, Dr. Moisey provides leadership and strategic direction for The Laurels while remaining committed to the values and traditions that founded the community. She combines decades of senior living experience with a forward-thinking approach, incorporating innovative technology, enhanced staff education, and evolving best practices to support employees and continually improve the quality of care and services provided to residents.
Dr. Moisey holds a PhD in Health Sciences with a concentration in Health Care Administration, as well as an MBA. Her extensive experience encompasses senior living operations, regulatory compliance, resident care, staff development, marketing, and organizational leadership.
Beyond The Laurels, Dr. Moisey is deeply committed to the Greater Hazleton community. She is actively involved in numerous community organizations and serves on several local boards, reflecting her continued dedication to strengthening the community in which she lives and works.
Throughout her career, Dr. Moisey has stayed focused on one guiding principle: ensuring that The Laurels remains a place where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect—and where families can feel confident that their loved ones are truly at home.
How We Began
On May 1, 2003, our first resident, Mary, walked through the front door, and that day began an amazing journey for our community. We outgrew our current facility within four years, which led us to build a new wing in 2007. We currently have over 90 residents in our facility. We feel blessed to have been a part of the Hazleton area for the past 23 years. With so many new "family members" in our lives, we have cherished the new friendships being formed. We look forward to many more years and are proud of our staff and administration for their hard work and dedication in serving our residents.
