Senior Living Benefits For Veterans & Their Spouses

Any resident who is a wartime veteran or the surviving spouse of a veteran may be eligible for these benefits. To be eligible, you must have at least 90 days on active duty with a minimum of 1 day during the active wartime and must have an honorable discharge. You must show proof that you need assistance with activities of daily living. There is no monthly limit to be eligible for the program, but there is a limit on your total assets.


PACE & PACENET Services

To be eligible for PACE, the annual income should not be more than $14,500 for an individual and $17,700 for a married couple. For PACENET, the annual income should not be more than $23,500 for an individual and $31,500 for a married couple. PACE gives a $6.00 co-pay for generic medications and $9.00 co-pay for name-brand medications. PACENET has a monthly deductible of $40.00, with an $8.00 co-pay for generic medications and $15.00 co-pay for name brands. 

Rental & Property Tax Rebates

If you live in an assisted living facility, you may be eligible for rent rebates. Your annual income should not be more than $15,000. When considering this amount, you should take into consideration one-half of the Social Security. You should not take into account Black Lung benefits. The maximum rebate amount is $500.00.
